So, at the beginning of next year my girlfriend and I are planning to move to New York City. More specifically, we want to move to Brooklyn.
So, why am I telling you this, lovely people of Tumblr? It comes down to the fact that I really, really could use some help.
Acting has always been my passion, but when I started to apply to university I became ill and as my health declined my confidence in myself also crashed. I allowed myself to be talked out of my dream.
My senior year I studied abroad in London where I focused on politics as an International Studies major with a hefty loan from the government. I was able to take a second class which focused on Shakespeare and my passion for theater was reignited. My professor told me to return to the stage. I came back to the states and began to audition for every play and sign up for every class. I even started vocal lessons!
It wasn’t really until after the death of my father last year that I took a hard look at my life and what I really wanted. I focused in on what would be best for my future. I decided that I wanted to move to New York City. I talked to my girlfriend about it, and she agreed. We saw this move as a great idea to start our lives together.
Here we run into some complications. My girlfriend currently lives in Georgia while I live in Ohio. We first met face to face through people we knew, but had the sad circumstances of living far apart. I also currently have over 30,000.00 in student loans to pay back and a surgery happening in two weeks. I found out yesterday that this surgery could lead to another surgery - adding to my seemingly endless struggles.
I have started a GoFundMe account in order to ask for help. What I have up as a goal would help both my girlfriend and I move to the city and hire movers once there. Whatever we have left would go to a deposit on an apartment.

Any amount would help. What you think is small is huge to me. If you can reblog to get the word out it would help a great deal. Thank you so much for your time!
